About deVine Wines
Rich and Paula Shively have been passionate about wine for over 30 years. Paula's family owned a wine cellar
restaurant and family celebrations almost always included some sort of wine tasting event. Six years ago,
Mike and Laura Orlando were opening a new wine shop in the not yet built Mill Creek Town Center and hired Paula
to work at the shop. The Orlandos opened de Vine Wines in April of 2004. Paula's involvement in the shop grew
and she began managing the shop in 2006. In the spring of 2009, the Orlandos offered Rich and Paula an opportunity
to purchase the shop, and in June 2009, Paula and Rich became the new owners of de Vine Wines. Paula continues
to operate the shop and has developed a palate for elegant, food-friendly wines, both red and white. She is a
bit of a Viognier freak, and loves the off-varietals like Carmenere and Grenache. Rich is involved with community
relations for the business. Rich is an ardent fan of Washington's rich red blends.
The staff here at de Vine Wines is like a family, albeit a bit kooky, and the shop would not be the same without
Gerry Morgen and Jim Hemstead!

Gerry, the tenacious Fine Wine Manager at deVine Wines cut his teeth as a young man upon jugs of whatever was on
special that week. During his extensive travels, his palate developed into the weapon it is today. Gerry now
specializes in Napa Valley and Walla Walla Cabs, Russian River Valley Zins and Italian varietals.

After winning the Nobel Peace Prize in 1971, Jim decided to move west to Ventura Ca. It was there that he was
first introduced to the works of Jim Henson. Bringing that influence into his own passions, the next
logical step was the wine industry where today he strives to keep learning and growing at deVine Wines. His
palate is varied, but he likes to search out great Syrah, Grenache and Mourvedre blends which compliment his culinary
adventures.
